Injured Laurier Golden Hawks Kale Harrison optimistic about early return

Senior guard Kale Harrison of the Golden Hawks is very optimistic about his return to action after as the 2011-12 CIS men’s basketball season gets set to open-up in mid-September.

Harrison picked up a concussion after playing only three-minutes for Canada’s Developmental Team at the 26th Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China.

Team Canada fell to defending champions Serbia in the championship game.

Harrison, last year’s BasketballBuzz OUA West Player of the year, averaged 21.1 and 5.3 rebounds per contest and should once again be amongst the nation’s best in the scoring department.

Head Coach Peter Campbell has drawn-up a tough preseason schedule, the Golden Hawks will be one of the most active teams playing in three exhibition tournaments, 2011 Thunderbird Classic hosted by UBC, Jack Donohue Classic (Ottawa Gee-Gees) and the Concordia Invitational.
