Robert Sacre Center Of Attention I Got Next Basketballbuzz Magazine 2006

Robert Sacre hovers like an eagle over his teammates, but with the nickname Sugar, his game is all about sweetness. At the crisp young age of 15, the 7-footer is considered by many as one of the brightest teen prospects currently playing the center position in British Columbia high school basketball. Hailing from North Vancouver, Sacre attends Handsworth Secondary School and is the main go-to big man in the frontcourt for the Royals basketball team.

Emulating his game after Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace, Sacre has a merciless work ethic and his superb athleticism grants him the ability to possess outstanding defensive shot blocking skills. But don’t let his size fool you. He has good hands and is a solid finisher around the rim.

Last summer, Sacre was a part of the under-15 provincial team where he steamrolled the National Championships averaging 30 points and 20 rebounds and taking home the Most Valuable Player award. But with his size and skill, comes boundless opportunities. This summer, Sacre has been selected to take part in the under-17 Super Camp for Boys and Girls which takes place at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC.

Right now, there is plenty of buzz surrounding the big man and speculation has been rampant as to where he might end up after high school. If his poise and skills are any indications, there is little doubt he might just become one of the most coveted Canadian centers to ever don a division one college jersey.
