It looks like Sim Bhullar has parted ways with the Xavier Musketeers.
In a surprising decision the 7’5 Canadian center has changed his mind and will now attend the University of New Mexico State.
The Aggies roster features five Canadian basketball players, including associate head coach Paul Weir who played for former York Lions head coach Bob Bain.
The Canadian contingent was a factor in helping head coach Marvin Menzies land Bhullar’s services.
Other Canadians on the team include Senior guard Hernst Laroche (Montreal, QC), junior Tyrone Watson (Hamilton, ON), sophomores Renaldo Dixon (Toronto, ON), Christian Kabongo (Toronto, ON) and freshmen Daniel Mullings (Toronto, ON).
In addition to the Canadians, the Aggies are extremely lengthy upfront and feature four players over 6’10.
The Aggies also signed former NBA player Tony Delk to an Assistant coach position earlier this summer.
As the 16th pick of the Charlotte Hornets, he spent 10 years in the NBA including stints with Golden State, Sacramento, Phoenix, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta and Detroit.
As a member of the Phoenix Suns, he scored a career-high 53 points against the Sacramento Kings, Jan. 2, 2001. He ended his career with 4,957 points and averaged 9.1 points per game. Delk also played internationally in Greece and helped Panathinaikos win the Euroleague Championship in 2006-07.
